Questions & answers Ask a question Q: Why are wait times so long in your e.r. your waiting room is a torture chamber. In this time of technology no person should have to wait 12 hrs for medical attention. When you see ppl walking out to another hospital why am I wasting time here. A: The staff can only handle so much because besides the people in the waiting room they have to deal with a lot of critical patients coming in by ambulance or helicopter and they are usually dying and so have the priority with them depending on what needs medical attention first to save lives. Many people fill up the room and it takes time for rooms or beds to become available for treatment or moving ones that are staying at the hospital that they are not able to give a room until someone leaves and it gets clean for the next patient. More people go to Shands than the other hospitals. They do the best they can and their staff do very well for being students because they are updated with new research and treatments. I am a patient there and I always have to wait 12 hours unless I have breathing problems or something more critical. Also if people just go because they are sick but it is not an emergency that takes up time for people who need help now. The Kanapaha ER less wait time.(5 more answers)See all questions (73) Popular times Wednesdays MondaysTuesdaysWednesdaysThursdaysFridaysSaturdaysSundaysBased on visits to this place. : Live: As busy as it gets6a9a12p3p6p9p12a3a12a3a6a9a12p3p6p9p12a3a6aPlan your visitHistogram showing popular times on SundaysHistogram showing popular times on MondaysHistogram showing popular times on TuesdaysHistogram showing popular times on WednesdaysHistogram showing popular times on ThursdaysHistogram showing popular times on FridaysHistogram showing popular times on SaturdaysPeople typically spend 45 min to 3.5 hr here Add a photoThanks for sharing!Your photo will be posted publicly on Google.Contribute MoreDoneUpload public photos of UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital Posting publicly on the Web Write a review Reviews"Fingers crossed) thank you to all of the staff at Shands my second home.."
