A: You are getting mixed information Mike, anyone can be seen at SAMMC ED, all you need is a valid DL to get onto post. Stop at the visitors center at the gate and they will give you a pass to get onto the installation. The ED has an obligation to see anyone who presents to the facility, not just active duty, guard/reservists, dependents and retired folks. That being said, if you need to be admitted, you will be sent to an outside facility if you are in a stable condition for transport. On another note, it is in violation to be turned away from any ED due to the ability to pay for services, to do so and found guilty carries a stiff fine for any hospital.
