Description

The fourth USS Princeton (CVL-23) was a United States Navy Independence-class light aircraft carrier active in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. She was launched in 1942 and lost at the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944. Length: 622′ Construction started: June 2, 1941 Launched: October 18, 1942 Aircraft carried: 45 Commissioned: 25 February 1943 Builder: New York Shipbuilding Corporation
